John, no rankings system can perfectly compare teams that attended a different number of tournaments. Average score doesn&#039;t do the trick because it discourages teams from attending more tournaments if they did well at their first one. POI minimizes inaccuracy by using diminishing marginal return multipliers and accepting at-larges at CalCup to account for the outliers.</description>
