John, no rankings system can perfectly compare teams that attended a different number of tournaments. Average score doesn’t do the trick because it discourages teams from attending more tournaments if they did well at their first one. POI minimizes inaccuracy by using diminishing marginal return multipliers and accepting at-larges at CalCup to account for the outliers.

Isn’t the ranking system flawed then? Because the more tournaments teams attend, the more points, which doesn’t determine whether they are good or not.

All Californian invitationals count as long as we get their results packets. Last year we didn’t include Analy because we never received the results.
