Novice POI Rankings
Thus beginneth the social experiment. This separate ranking system has absolutely no bearing on the official varsity rankings. Instead, it is intended to document the winnings of the oft-overlooked novice teams (and draw attention to potential future state champions).
- Team Rankings Points
The total point value for each team shall be calculated as follows:
(points from best tournament)(1) + (points from second best tournament)(0.95) + (points from third best tournament)(0.65) + (points from fourth best tournament)(0.3) + (points from fifth best tournament)(0.1)
For example, a team that went to 7 tournaments and got 7,0,4,6,4,3,3 points respectively would get a total of (7)(1)+(6)(0.95)+(4)(0.65)+(4)(0.3)+(3)(0.1)=16.8 points - Points eligibility
- Only results from novice divisions will be eligible.
- If a team was entered in a varsity division, but qualified for a novice breakout, then they will be eligible for points on this list. However, any varsity results will be only counted for the primary list.
- Only two-person teams are eligible.
- Walkovers
In an event of a walkover, the points from the elim round in which the walkover happened should be split equally among the two teams. - Tournament points
