Hello, my name is Luke Lindenbusch, and I have some information on behalf of Analy’s Parli-only 2nd Annual Banana Classic on September 18th. Any team (not only GGSA) can register, and can do so by emailing our coach, Lynette Williamson, at db8coach@hotmail.com.
We are not registering through JOT, but rather simply sending the results to POI this year.
The Banana Classic is a great way for Parli teams to scrape the rust off and prepare for a successful year, and gives teams the advantage of competing with the altered Parli field prior to leagues.
For more information, please email Ms. Williamson as soon as possible. We hope to see you then!

Patriot is in November, I believe.
The rest are either Oregon tournaments or in 2011.
Lancer (San Diego) was October last year, waiting for Mr. Gardner to fill us in on whether it’s happening this year.
Calhoun (Georgia) is October 1-2, but I’m not sure if it offers parli this year.

The Banana Classic tournament doesn’t have sent round times, but it runs from 9AM-4PM with four rounds and has a fee of $20 per competitor, which includes lunch.
I just sent the full invite in doc form to the mail@poi email.
The 3rd Annual Windsor Invitational Parliamentary Debate Tournament is scheduled this year on Saturday Dec 4th — finally no conflict with other parli events! Registration will be on JOT in the next month.
Same fun format as always…open & novice divisions with 4 power-matched prelim rounds + finals between the top 2 teams in each division. Top speakers are awarded along with awards for all teams going 3-1 or better. Open division finals are on the big stage in front of 200+ observers.

Dangit why does CPS have to be the same weekend …
Any thoughts/opinions about Stanford moving to 5 prelims?
I’m really not sure why they did that. I remember them getting 4 rounds in on Saturday last year…that seemed to work all right…though the lag-pairing in R3/4 was unfortunate.
What really bothers me is that they have this absolutely awful “3 rounds in 10 hours” format. Stanford should really learn to expedite their tabbing system. Plus, double-flighted elims really kill me. Stanford is just so poorly run in general (but I wouldn’t miss it, of course!). I guess the 5 prelim stuff doesn’t surprise me.
OCSL State Qualifiers will be held on March 12th, 2011 at Servite High School. Apparently they’ll only qualify two teams instead of four..
