Background
I debated parli for four years in high school and have one year of college parli experience so far.
Approach to judging
I avoid interventionism as much as possible and prefer to stick to the flow when deciding a round. That said, I’m also a blank slate judge, so I value thoroughly warranted arguments with articulated impacts. Justification of your framework or criterion is always appreciated. If the flow looks fairly even, I will fall back on poise and charisma to cast my ballot.
Argument preferences
I have a low tolerance for procedurals that aren’t provoked by round-destroying abuse. I will accept anything else as valid until the other team tells me otherwise, including critical and framework arguments.
Presentation preferences
I can follow higher speeds, but if your coherence suffers from your speed, your speaker points will be happier if you slow down. Humor is a quick and easy way to win points (but not necessarily the round). I will follow any method of formatting as long as it is signposted.
