Windsor wins the Vendlinski Invitational

Mariah Steiger & Peter Jeffrey from Windsor High School took 1st Place in the Vendlinski Invitational at Bishop O’Dowd High School. Steiger/Jeffrey negated the motion “If given the choice, Jesus Christ would choose capitalism over communism” and prevailed on a unanimous decision in a well-attended final round against the Bishop O’Dowd team of Audrey Carson & Nathalie Dierkx.

Just from the first round I can already tell this Vendlinski will have the best resolutions of any tournament.
Steiger & Jeffrey (Windsor) defeat Carson & Dierkx (O’Dowd) in the final round to win the tournament. Resolution: If given the choice, Jesus Christ would choose capitalism over communism. Opp won on a 3-0 ballot.
Round 1, Flight B
1. Greece should default.

3. The U.S. State Department should approve the Keystone XL pipeline.
Round 3, Flight B
1. California should significantly reform state education policy.
2. Corporations are people too.
3. The USFG should prepare to defend our solar system from the inevitable alien invasion.
Round 4, Flight A
1. The value of each human is equal.
2. Idealism should be valued over pragmatism.
3. THW put an X in the center square.
Round 4, Flight B
1. The USFG should raise the eligibility age for social security.

Had to leave early and couldn’t watch the final round, but what was it like? Are there any recordings?
I loved the Props analysis of the parable of the servants with the coins and its connection to a judgement day in heaven as an “earn it” mentality, and a very capitalistic “don’t squander your wealth” ideal. Interesting judging decision in my opinion
