SNFI priority deadline is May 25th

This is Artem speaking. I was asked by Matt Vassar, who used to direct NPDL and is currently a professor at Stanford, to publish the following email he sent out to CFL coaches. A couple things that I want to add to the email are that 1) Matt neglects to mention that he also coached an MLK-Logan closeout and 2) as an SNFI alumni, I would definitely recommend everyone to check out the camp. Anywho, here’s what Matt has to say:

“Friends,

I hope that all is well in the Coast Forensic League; coaches who were around several years ago will remember my name, and to those who don’t know me, it’s a pleasure to meet you!

My name is Matt Vassar and I’m on faculty at Stanford University in the Oral Communication Program. As a coach in the Coast Forensic League, I trained parliamentary debate competitors to international accolades at the International Tournament of Champions (where only 72 teams worldwide were invited) and the North American Debating Championships (where only 24 teams in North America were invited); I had top-ranked speakers (finishing as high as 2nd place) as well as teams in the semi-final round at each of these tournaments.

For the past four years, I’ve had the distinct pleasure of serving as director of the parliamentary division at the Stanford National Forensic Institute. Regardless of if you have students who are just starting out or parliamentary debate students are ready to take their debating to the next level through top-ranked instruction, I would highly recommend the Stanford National Forensic Institute’s program in parliamentary debate.

I hope to see many of your students at camp this summer!

Matt”
