  • Content User says:

haha, i thought so. I was wondering why it said that. Also, how’s the judging at SCU2?

  • Content User says:

    judging sucks

  • Kunal says:

Under Novice Semifinals, are those the real teams? As Harker and Evergreen both have no novice parli teams entered…

  • Content User says:

If Bently makes it past octos, they’ll probably win.

  • Rohit Unni says:

Definitely possible. Those guys are amazing

  • Content User says:

It’s hard to beat them in a lay rounds, but the best way to stop them is with flow judges.

  • Robert Ying says:

Lynbrook AY dropped to Saratoga AJ on resolution:
THW eliminate the federal minimum wage

    We were Aff.

  • Content User says:

    SCU 2 Champion:
    Saratoga AJ

  • Kunal says:

Its already over? Wow, that was faster than expected…

  • Rohit Unni says:

    Congrats to Saratoga

  • Alice says:

Quarters just ended for open parli, so there’s no way that a winner could have been decided.

We ask that people who comment refrain from insulting schools/teams or posting blatantly incorrect information. Such comments will be edited/removed.

  • Aditya says:

Dude, I just got back from the tourney, quarters ended like at 10pm…

I believe sems is Los Gatos EU vs. Saratoga AJ and Bentley BM vs. Cupertino MK

I’m sure it won’t be over till past midnight. After I cool off about the fail judging, I’ll post a more detailed “review” of this tournament. But for now, congrats to the teams that are still in.

All of Lynbrook is out btw.

  • Content User says:

Based off of what i know about those teams. Bentley will pick up and Los Gatos will also. Finals should be interesting haha

  • Alice says:

Once again, please do not insult any teams.

To clarify, my above comment was not directed at the comment right above it.

  • Content User says:

    LOL, i called it.

  • karthik says:

Los Gatos EU defeats Saratoga AJ in semis

    finals: LG vs Bentley

  • Content User says:

LOL CALLED IT!!! Woo, i’m good. My next prediction is LG > Bentley

  • Sarah McGuinn says:

Notre Dame KF should be Notre Dame KFV-Brianna Krong debated with Prerana Vaddi today through Quarters and Adrienne Furniss during rounds 1-3.

I judged some good rounds but it did seem like judging was all over the place today. Hey thanks to the only judge who voted against them in prelims for basing your judgment on “wittiness” and the “fact” that Leland is always the best. (I do heart Leland, but its frustrating to coach a ballot like that)

SIGH. Congrats to whoever wins. I do recall Mr. Van Unen being particularly awesome when we put him to work in judge paneling at CFL State quals IE.

  • Kunal says:

I had that judge who said that he wanted to see wittiness in the round. We ended up winning that round (yes, I am from Leland ;) but I felt that some of his criterion was legit…and some of the other stuff was…interesting.

  • Sarah McGuinn says:

I mean, it’s all good, teams were strong and whatnot and you have to be prepared for any judge, but as a coach, I just gotta tell em “Hey, sometimes you get the wacky judge, just do the best you can” and still be annoyed.

Especially since I flow like crazy and try to be a good judge. Ah well.

  • Kate Epstein says:

The win went to Bentley on a 2-1 decision. The round ended around 1.

  • Artem says:

If I’m not mistaken, this is Logan’s fifth tournament championship – pretty impressive, considering that that guy is still a junior.

Also, congrats to Robert/Kate. Now I feel like an idiot for not letting you guys into the Cali Cup, but I’m sure you’ll make waves at States.

Congrats to Sarthak for a nice end to his career and to Robert for finally getting a trophy – after 10 tourneys of being one ballot short of getting screwed on speaks.

Finally, kudos to Lillian Li, who got to quarters of a varsity tournament after doing debate for one week – LynbrookSD has a future.

    P.S. Who is Galactica?
P.P.S. Notre Dame is listed as KFV is the field report, but as KV in elims, since KV debated in elims.

  • Kunal says:

Galactica is the nickname for Alexandra Lee (from Leland)

  • Sarah McGuinn says:

Oh, I’m just blind. I thought it said KF in octos/quarters.

Congrats to all on good parli debating.

  • Artem says:

It did. I used my magic editor powers to make it say KV.

  • Sarah McGuinn says:

You should always use those powers for good and not evil, good sir.
