Thank you for the above information. If i really wanted to get into Stanford, is there anyway possible I could get my team into the tournament eventhough the deadline has passed?

All tournaments except for league tournaments (STATE QUALS DO COUNT) get POI points, as long as somebody submits the results to us.

Stanford, Windsor, possibly another Prospect?, SCU2, Calcup, Squals, and State are the remaining Parli tournaments of the year.

Congrats on sleuthing this out so quickly as this amendment wasn't on the agenda for the May 7 CHSSA meeting but was apparently introduced, passed and approved for implementation ASAP. Now perhaps other tournaments will also allow computers in Parli prep. Should be fun to see how this plays out...

My information came from an email from a TVFL coach who was at the CHSSA meeting where the amendment was passed. I can forward it to you if you need confirmation, Mr. St. Amant.

@Coach St. Amant
It looks like there was another CAHSSA meeting after the September 2011 meeting. The rationale section of the rule notes that the rule was passed to create "parity with the Extemnporaneous Speaking rules passed at the last CSSC meeting..."

Perhaps CAHSSA is a bit slow in updating their meeting minutes!

Many thanks to Benjamin Morris and Coach St. Amant for clarifying.

I'm not entirely sure the CHSSA rules have actually been amended this way. The copy of Einar's amendment is interesting, but I can't find this text referenced anywhere in the minutes of either last May or last Sept's CHSSA Council minutes. Nor has any change in this regard been recorded in the actual CHSSA rules. (By contrast the new rule about handwritten citations has now finally been published.)

Please do check my facts. Here are the links I used:

Regarding the CFL vs. CHSSA thing that came up earlier: there was a CHSSA amendment to the bylaws that changed the rules regarding parli prep. Computers (but not the Internet) are now allowed during prep time at the State Tournament.

Text of the amendment: http://trivalleysite.yolasite.com/resources/CHSSA/2011_2012/1201A.1201B.pdf
