Lynbrook takes Prospect HS Invitational 2011-2012

This Saturday, October 29th, was the first Prospect High School Invitational. As with UOP, the Invitational did not follow strict CHSSA rules; however, this did not seem to affect the debates significantly.

Lynbrook RY (Anjana Rao & Robert Ying) took the tournament with an undefeated 5-0 record, defeating Milpitas GO (Patrick O’Brien & Michael Grillo) in hidden eliminations due to a Milpitas forfeit.

The invitational was a five-round single-flighted tournament, with hidden eliminations (finals) in the fifth round. Rounds 3, 4, and 5 were powermatched, while rounds 1 and 2 were randomly assigned. The strikes system was used for topic selection, topics will be posted below when we have them (please contribute!).

There were 18 teams competing in the open division, and 6 teams competing in the novice division.
