We had a great time at the Windsor Invitational yesterday. 48 parli teams competed in Open & Novice Division. There were 4 preliminary rounds & one final round in each division. All teams with a 3-1 prelim record or better earned awards.

RULES
Allowed full student squad prep (no coaches/adults), use of electronic devices during prep was OK & you could use any color paper you wanted. Only handwritten notes allowed into the debates. POIs were allowed in all speeches. No POOs, etc.

SCHEDULE UPDATE
We’re looking to move this tournament earlier in the schedule next season so more of our POI friends can attend.

I’d also like to point out that elevator use was allowed on the Windsor campus.

Congrats to Windsor, Livermore, and Analy for making it to the exhibition rounds.

    RE: Schedule Update

Move it to Sept./Oct./Nov. no clash with either Jack Howe or St. Francis.

There is a dearth of tournaments that time, so you should get a huge turnout.

Windsor advertises itself as a warm-up for squals, so it would make sense that they have in February. I do agree, however, that if it was held circa October and maybe added sems or a fifth prelim, it would have a much larger and more diverse draw. I am personally a fan of BACDL/CFL squals format, with 4-5 prelims and then breaking 8 or so teams and having 4 final rounds.
