Honda to adjudicate the final round of the California Cup!

We are excited to announce that Representative Mike Honda, who has just returned to Silicon Valley after Congress adjourned for recess this Monday, has graciously agreed to judge in finals of the California Cup. Before he represented California’s 15th congressional district in the House of Representatives, Mr. Honda was a high school principal and was instrumental in establishing the Sunnyvale Speech and Debate team; he will now return as a judge to observe the tremendous growth Silicon Valley debate has underwent in the past three decades.
Representative Honda will arrive at 7PM, so we will have to cut the run-off round in order to ensure that the final round starts on time. The topic for the final round will deal with one of the issues Mr. Honda is currently working with in the House; you can learn more about this by visiting Mr. Honda’s official website. Mr. Honda’s judging philosophy will be available soon is up (we have waived the $30 nuisance fee for late philosophies in this instance to accommodate Mr. Honda’s schedule, so it wasn’t available on Wednesday).

Yo no pienso que es un chiste, Honda tiene aún sus propias preferencias y este artículo fue publicado hace dos días

Our apologies for being too busy trying to keep the tournament running to cover it.

Jason, pretty much everyone associated with POI was either competing at the tournament or volunteering on site for about 13 hours today w/ little to no internet connectivity. There was very little down time between rounds with lunch and dinner being the only slightly extended periods of downtime, and obviously this was completely packed with people rushing to the food. Not to mention that we didn’t have a tabbing software that could handle 2 judges per round, so everything was handtabbed, taking even more time. But an article is up now so it’s all good.
