Devon Smith is the 2011 Supplemental Debate National Champion
The supplemental debate portion of 2011 NFL Nationals concluded with a championship round debate between Nixa’s Devon Smith on the affirmative and Kyle Valente of Elizabeth HS on the negative. On a 4-3 decision Devon went on to be crowned the national champion.

A special shout-out goes to the two outgoing POI editors – Sam Gardner, who placed ninth in Supplemental debate, and Benjamin Morris, who reached the semifinal round of Student Congress.
California Cup 2010 and 2011 top speakers Ben Mabie and Rylan Schaeffer went on to place third in Extemp and Congress respectively.
