If they broke at a tournament where almost everyone broke, please contact the Tournament Director. Debate novices that attended over 3 tournaments also might not be accepted. The eligibility of these speakers and debaters will be decided on a case-by-case basis, so contact the Tournament Director if you want to enter them. Debaters who have attended more than one tournament will be paired against each other rather than against the less experienced debaters.

Debate rules
CHSSA rules will be followed with the following exceptions:
-LD Preparation time will be 4 minutes.
-There will not be a designated Prep Room for Parliamentary Debate.

Judging
Please bring 1 judge for every four (4) Individual Events entries and 1 judge for every two (2) debate entries. Judging commitment will be for the duration of the tournament. If they cannot stay for the entire time, you will need to indicate on the entry forms which judges will cover which fraction of the commitment.
We will not push ballots! All judges are expected to pick up ballots for the rounds they are assigned.
Note regarding varsity student judges: All coaches should inform their varsity students that this tournament seeks to promote an open and encouraging environment for relatively new students who are still learning the tricks of the trade, so to speak. Therefore, the tournament will expect all varsity students to conduct themselves in a mature and dignified manner at our tournament. Behaviors such as off-colored comments about a student’s performance, overt or subtle sexual innuendos, profanities uttered in the confines of a competition round, etc. are all examples of inappropriate behaviors we will not tolerate. The tournament also expects student judges to give constructive feedback after the debate and written on the ballots.
Please attempt to cover your entries completely.  Maximum 10 IE/6 debate uncovered.

Awards
Awards will be given to all undefeated debaters and all speech finalists. If there are no speech finals, prelims will be used to rank speakers and the top 6-8 will get awards.

Double entry

Speech/Speech and Speech/Debate double entering is allowed. Triple entering is not allowed. Congress debaters cannot double enter. Double entering in two extemps is not allowed. SPAR is a speech event.

hm, nice website. I find it very funny that you have the middleschool “hand on head” pose in the page.
