California Cup cracks down on cheating during preparation time
It has been brought to our attention that allowing laptops in prep means that debaters can use instant messaging programs to create an illegal virtual prep room with their coaches. This is unacceptable and jeopardizes the integrity of the activity. To avoid this problem, debaters will not be allowed to use their own laptops during prep. Instead, each team will be given a different color laptop with disabled Wi-Fi for the duration of the tournament. We count on your integrity to return the color laptops before you leave the tournament. Please review the California Cup Honor Code.

Can we bring an external hard drive to access cases and research with the provided laptop?
I thought laptops were never allowed
April Fools, I think. I think it’s a critique of the colored paper system now employed at many tournaments.
April fools guys. Did you really expect em to give us all laptops?
Ok embarrassing
I approve of this.
