Bishop O’Dowd places second at Yale
The O’Dowd Debate parliamentary duo of Audrey Carson & Nathalie Dierkx came up one victory short from claiming the championship title at last weekend’s Yale Invitational, hosted by the Yale Debate Association. Carson & Dierkx dominated the east coast schools in the tournament’s preliminary rounds, compiling a 5 – 0 record and holding the #1 seed heading into elimination rounds. The pair continued its impressive run through the quarter and semifinal rounds before dropping the championship round on a split 2 – 1 ballot to Connecticut’s Wilton High School.
O’Dowd also received an impressive performance from first-time parli partners Olivia Seideman & Marco Zepeda. The pair finished the preliminary rounds as the tournament’s #2 seed before bowing out in the quarterfinals. Nadia Perl & Cate Vegis finished the preliminary rounds with a 3 – 2 record and just missed making the cut into elims.
Mr. Zepeda concluded the tournament as the #6 ranked speaker. Ms. Carson held the tournament’s #3 speaker position while Ms. Dierkx received the tournament’s top-speaker award.

Congrats from Windsor! Way to represent GGSA…
Yale trophies put everything in CA to shame.
O’Dowd dominance to continue another year? I think so.
