Be the Eye of POI

It’s easy. It’s fun. It rhymes.

Following its inaugural report on St. Francis, POI will be providing coverage of various tournaments this season. We ask our audience to help us cover more tournaments. There are two main ways you can do this:

1) To cover one tournament, please contact us at mail@pointofinformation.org , informing us ahead of time, so that we make a thread dedicated to the tournament you are willing to cover. Alternatively, you can post in this thread. After that, simply post updates in comments. At minimum, coverage includes resolutions, elim results, and speaker awards, posted soon after the tournament releases them. You are invited to go beyond that, posting anything interesting that happened at the tournament.

2) For a more long term commitment to POI, you can apply to become an editor. Editors aren’t required to work on a regular basis; it’s semi-formal blogger-like role we’ve established mostly to improve communication. However, editors are allowed to to make posts, in addition to comments, so you would be able to post anything you think would be interesting to the parli community.

Out of all tournaments that offer parli, POI will definitely cover the following (and most likely at least half a dozen more):

Dempsey Cronin @ Santa Clara
MLK @ James Logan
Stanford
CFL State Qualifier
Santa Clara Spring (SCU2)

Help us expand this list.

    SCHEDULE UPDATE
We’re looking to move this tournament earlier in the schedule next season so more of our POI friends can attend.

  • POI says:

Sorry that I didn’t set up the coverage posts this weekend, I was down in SoCal debating. Looks like everything worked out in the end though, thanks everyone for the updates.
I’ll make separate Windsor/Stanford posts after I recover.

P.S. Was there internet at Windsor? E.g. were laptops used to store backfiles or to search the web?

  • Thanks for posting results for the Windsor Invitational. As part of our rule allowing electronic devices during prep, we did allow internet access via smartphone, laptop or iPad.
