Jon Thorpe
Jon Thorpe is the coach of the Bishop O’Dowd High School debate team (founded in 2007).
O’Dowd parli teams have cleared to outrounds at Yale, Pacific, Santa Clara, MLK, Pepperdine, and Stanford and won Pepperdine (2011) and Santa Clara (2009, 2011). Additionally, O’Dowd parli debaters have won top-speaker awards at Yale, Pacific, Santa Clara, MLK, and Pepperdine.
The O’Dowd team of Carey Appeldorn & Kate Drew won the California state title in 2010. The pair also won the inaugural California Cup (2010).
Mr. Thorpe also served as the academic director for the 2011 two-week SNFI parliamentary debate camp.
